Headway is the UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury by providing vital support and information services, including:

The Brain & Spine Foundation provides professional information and support for every one of the 600+ neurological conditions affecting one in six people living in the UK. They provide free, expert help and support for any condition, and for anyone affected through their Helpline, peer support groups and health information. They exist to provide information, answer questions, reduce anxiety and inform choices for individuals, families and healthcare professionals.
The Migraine Trust is dedicated to helping people affected by migraine. They are the only UK migraine charity providing information and support, campaigning for awareness and change, and funding and promoting research. The Migraine Trust Helpline provides evidence-based information and support on all aspects of migraine, including types of migraine, access to healthcare, treatments, your rights in employment and education, the emotional impact of migraine and much more.
The Neurological Alliance, England’s leading coalition of organisations and professional bodies supporting people with neurological conditions – over 90 organisations working together to ensure that every person affected by a neurological condition can access the right treatment, care and support at the right time.
Disability Rights UK is the UK’s leading Disabled People’s Organisation (DPO), meaning they are led by, run by, and working for Disabled people. They work alongside other DPOs, as well as campaigning policy makers and Government across the UK to influence regional and national change for better rights, benefits, quality of life and economic opportunities for Disabled people.
ENRYCH supports adults with a physical disability to engage more fully within their local communities.
PSPA is the only UK charity dedicated to creating a better future for everyone affected by PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) & CBD (Corticobasal Degeneration). The PSPA Helpline is a great first port of call following a diagnosis of PSP & CBD; providing someone for you to talk to, sign post you to information and also help you understand the support available to you.
They are there to offer support and advice no matter what stage of Huntington’s journey you are at. They provide a helpline, host support groups and provide information on all elements of living with Huntington’s Disease.
myaware are a charity in place to support people living with myasthenia. They offer a listening ear, connect you with others in similar situations, provide advice and guidance on benefits and welfare, and have a team of medical professionals on hand to answer generic medical questions relating to myasthenia.
Local organisations
South West London
Headway South West London provides assistance, support, information and services to people affected by a brain injury, their families and carers in South West London. Monthly group meetings are held in Wimbledon, Balham, Croydon and Richmond. There are regular social events too and meetings for carers.
Headway South West London is an independent charity, affiliated to Headway UK, and one of over 100 Headway groups across the UK. Services are provided by a network of volunteers and the charity is governed by a group of trustees.
Surrey
Headway Surrey supports adults over 18 in Surrey with acquired and traumatic brain injury, and supports their families, friends, employers, health and social care workers. Headway Surrey ensures that when a person’s life (and their family’s) is turned upside down by brain injury, they get the help and support they need and deserve. Headway Surrey has been providing a range of specialised services since 1985, from our centre in Guildford (and online, via telephone and text, or at hospitals and other venues).
Financial support and guidance
Turn2us is a national charity providing practical help to people who are struggling financially. They offer support to those facing financial shocks and challenge the systems and perceptions that cause financial insecurity.
There is a wide range of disability-related financial support, including benefits, tax credits, payments, grants and concessions.
Money Helper is a free and impartial advice service set up by the government. The information and advice they provide is sourced from experts and has the sole purpose of providing the UK public with helpful and actionable advice.
