As a network, we are committed to delivering transformation to neurological services and pathways in order to improve patient experience and outcomes for those living with a neurological condition across South West London and Surrey.
Achieved to date
Already we have:
- Established the SWL and Surrey Neurosciences Network as part of the SWL Clinical Networks in 2020 for SWL, and extended into Surrey in 2021. Since then the network has successfully established a multi-professional, cross-provider Board that meets quarterly to ensure strategic alignment of neuroscience plans across SWL and Surrey Heartlands.
- Developed regional networks in
- Epilepsy
- Functional neurological disorder (FND)
- Multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Parkinson’s disease
- Strengthened links across other networks in the region
- Set up the SWL and Surrey Neurosciences Transformation Pilot. Developed case for change with NHSE London and the South London Office of Specialised Services and secured dedicated funding for regional level transformation roles. Our pilot was also chosen as a national exemplar site for NHSE National Neurosciences Transformation Programme.
- Developed a patient involvement strategy called ‘Neuro Voices’.
Next steps
- Collate further information on resources, priorities and workplans for 24/25 across services and the two geographies.
- Bring together key leads to review and consider synergies and new ways of working.
